Attractions of Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer is the gem city of the heritage Indian state of Rajasthan, which is also known as the ''Golden City''. This magnificent city was founded by a Rajput king Rawal Jaisal in 1156 A.D. Amidst at the gate of golden-yellow kingdom of Thar Desert, tightly hugged by beautiful Aravali hills, this jewel city has lots of attractions in its lap. Its impressive forts, splendid temples and royal havelis etc. attract tourists from all over the world. 

Jaisalmer Fort: At a height of 250 feet, situated on Trikuta hill, this massive structure of sandstone easily mesmerizes everyone with its magical sights at the time of sunshine and sunset. Jain Temple: Inside the masculine fort walls seven temples, built between 12th century and 15th century, are one of the major attractions of the city. The interior of the temples is awesome. The walls of the temples have beautiful carvings of animals and human figures, which snatch your sudden attention.

Havelis: The havelis in Jaisalmer have been built by the rich merchants. Built with red and yellow sand stone, enriched with beautiful curved architecture, these havelis are the symbol of royalty and luxuriousness of the wealthy families of Jaisalmer. Patwon ki Haveli, Salam Singh ki Haveli, Nathmal Ji ki Haveli and Haveli Shreenath are the must watch havelis of the city. 

Gadisagar Lake: This Lake is the one of the best picnic spot of the city. In the land of desert this beautiful lake is just like a lifeline of city, as it is the source of water for the whole Jaisalmer. In winters a number of migratory birds come here. Jaisalmer Desert package


Bara Bagh: In the dry land of Thar Desert the lush green surroundings of Bara Bagh work as a harbor to the people of the city. It works just like a relief centre to the local gentry with its superb greenery.

Camel Safari: If you are in the land of desert, then your trip is exactly incomplete without the Camel Safari. The magnificent view of sunset in the golden sands seems like heaven with camel ride. If you are more sporty then you have one more option of Jeep Safari in Thar deserts.
